To ensure 100% leakproof function, you should regularly remove the seal, clean thoroughly with hot soapy water and dry fully before reinserting.
How do I remove stains? If microwaving foods such as tomato sauce, it can leave a stubborn residue stain. This can be removed by applying bicarbonate of soda with a damp cloth to these stubborn stains. It might require repeat applications and will fade away over time.
