While the cork is easy to grip, it is also a great insulator and stops heat escaping from the top. It is bonded to a food grade polypropylene under surface, and there's a removable silicone seal to make it leak proof and easy to clean.
The stainless steel spoon is great at scooping out your food and is held conveniently and securely on the side with super strong magnets.
Taking inspiration from the vintage thermoses that you sometimes find in antique shops, we wanted to create a food thermos that would one day hold the same appeal. The beautiful combination of brushed stainless steel and cork gives it retro appeal and these materials will stand the test of time and age well. They might show the odd dent or scratch, but this will only add to the products appeal and character. The cork top also serves a functional purpose and isn’t only aesthetic. Cork is a great insulator and allowed us to make the opening wider than other food thermoses on the market, which makes it more enjoyable to eat from. The hint of orange for the plastic thread was a visual nod to the colour used in vintage mason jar seals. The magnetic spoon that hugs the body was inspired by Japanese ceramic soup spoons and again serves to improve the eating experience. The end design is an eclectic mix of international references that create a lovely iconic utilitarian functional design.
