FAQs

Is the Lunch Box microwave-safe?

Yes, the Lunch Box is microwave-safe. Remove lid before microwaving. Two minutes maximum in one go. Stir and repeat if further heating is required.

Is the Lunch Box dishwasher-safe?

Yes, the Lunch Box, inner dish and sauce pot are all dishwasher-safe, please place them on the top rack. Remove the lid before dishwashing as this is not dishwasher-safe.

Can the Lunch Box Original go in the freezer?

You can put all parts of the Lunch Box Original in the freezer, but be careful not to overfill as liquids expand when frozen. Always make sure to fully defrost before placing it in the microwave.

Is the Lunch Box BPA and BPS-free?

Yes, all parts of the Lunch Box are BPA and BPS-free.

I can’t open my Lunch Box Original?

You will find a vacuum release gap on the side of the lid where the seal is exposed. Use the back of the fork handle to press the seal, allowing air to come into your Lunch Box. Be careful not to use any other sharp tool to do this as you may cut the silicone seal and damage it.

Is there anything I can do if the product starts leaking?

Firstly, check the silicone seal. If it has been compacted, this might cause it to leak. You can also pull the entire seal out, and push gently back in again, ensuring no one area is compressed too tightly. Remove, clean and fully dry your silicone seal regularly to ensure your Lunch Box stays 100% leak proof.

My food has left a stain on the product, how can I remove it?

Foods like tomato sauce can leave a stubborn red stain, but these can be removed by simply applying bicarbonate soda to a damp cloth and cleaning the affected area. You can repeat this cleaning method several times if the stain is quite engrained, and it should fade over time. It’s also useful to clean the stain as soon as possible before it becomes too strong. However, please note if there is an area scratched or cut by a knife, stains will be particularly difficult to remove, but they will fade over time.

The clip on my lunch box popped off. How can I fix it?

If the clip has popped off, you can easily snap it back into place. Our clips are designed not to break if they come off. For a quick reattachment guide, check out this video! Just make sure to close them two at a time from opposite sides (instead of one by one) to avoid this in the future. Also, ensure the lid lines up properly with the box.

Features

sauce pot & inner dish

A leak proof sauce pot can hold your salad dressing or sauce separately until you’re ready to use it (no more soggy salads!). The optional inner dish is an easy way to partition and microwave separate parts of your food. So, for example, you could have hot vegetables with a cold salad.

fork clip

One of the clips allows you to hold your stainless steel fork on the outside of the lunch box if you don’t take the inner dish.

dress your food

The lid of the sauce pot allows you to carry fresh parsley or parmesan cheese so you can dress your food perfectly just before you eat it.

a word from the designer

This design is the reboot of our first lunch box design, the Box Appetit that we launched in 2008. The original design was revolutionary and helped inspire the market. At the time, the Western world was making do with unimaginative food containers. We took inspiration from Japanese Bento boxes that organise and beautifully present the food they carry. Our design adapts and allows you to carry a huge variety of different foods with ease, all organised, leak proof, and a pleasure to eat from. While the world might be seeing a backlash to single-use plastic, this design used high-quality, built-to-last polymers for all the right reasons that make the design lightweight, durable, and perfect for on-the-go.
