Description

The Picnic Blanket is made from recycled plastic, just like our bag range, combining style with sustainability. The padded, water-resistant top layer makes it comfortable for summer picnics and cosy winter outings alike. Damp grass or accidental spills wipe away easily, and built-in straps let it roll up neatly for carrying. On windy beach days, its built in peg loops help keep it securely in place.

FAQs

Can the blanket be washed in the washing machine? 

Yes you can wash at 30°C with a small amount of detergent. Waterproof detergent will also ensure best performance. Air dry flat and remove straps before washing. 

How water-resistant is the fabric?

The bottom fabric is made from RPET with a PFA-free 2-PU coating. Achieving a score of 90 on AATCC 22 Water Resistance Standard. 

Is the water-repellant coating permanent?

The coating is not permanent so if washed regularly this will need to be re-applied. 

What is the fabric made of?

Our Picnic Blankets are made using the same RPET (recycled PET) fabric as our bags, and this takes waste plastic (110 plastic bottles worth) and turns it into our soft water resistant blanket.

A word from the designer

One of the things we enjoy most about design is questioning products that people assume are already solved. Picnic blankets are a perfect example. Many look great in photographs, neatly rolled with leather straps, but after a day outdoors they can be surprisingly awkward to fold, fasten and carry. We wanted to create a blanket that was just as enjoyable to pack away as it was to use. By integrating the carry straps into the design and adding subtle fold guides, we made packing away simpler and more intuitive. We also reinterpreted classic picnic blanket patterns through a more contemporary lens, creating a product that feels both familiar and refreshingly modern. The result is a picnic blanket designed around the entire experience, from carrying and unfolding to packing away again.
